Hi, Dani,

If, when using any other folder, things go as usual, I would say that
Windows has placed some kind of permissions limitation on that one folder.
At least, that's one possibility.

I'm using Win7. I tried creating a test lime file in the folder and it won't
let me write to it. The folder is on a hard drive and is named 150
Arranging-Contemporary Styles.

I also tried importing the XML file again, and sorry, but forgot to say that
it's giving me the message that it's not a valid XML file. I've imported XML
files that have been exported from Sibelius before, but haven't had any
problems.

Thanks,
Dani

That's strange. Did you try a different Lime filename in that folder? What
is the name of the folder? Which OS are you using?

Thanks,

Albert

Hi, Albert.
I can create text files in the folder, but not save Lime files there. I can
save lime files to other places on the computer, though.

I did a scan of the drive and no problems showed up.

Thanks,
Dani

Lime can not write the file where you are trying to save it. You probably
don't have write access to that folder. Try going to that place and making
a text file and I'll bet you won't be able to. Also, try saving the file
somewhere else.

I can open a file, but when I try to save it to another location, I get the
same error message:

"Error in program. OsErr = -36
Continue"

Thanks,
Dani, sorry to write so late

Make sure Lime is closed and then try opening a Lime file from Windows. If
it still doesn't work I'll check this out tomorrow morning.

Hi, Albert.
I haven't changed anything in my computer system--disconnected any hard
drives or deleted any network folders. I can open Sibelius documents from
the same folder the MIDI file is in without any trouble.

Now though, Lime gives me the following messages when I open the program:

"MIDISignIn():
An error in midiInOpen() = 7
OK" (I press OK then get:)
"Error in program. OsErr = -36
Continue"

Can I reinstall Lime? What should I do to fix this? I've got schoolwork that
requires Lime and Goodfeel, so am hoping to get a handle on this soon.
(Isn't it like the computer gods, though ...) *sigh*

Thanks,
Dani

Hi,

I think that means Lime is having trouble accessing a folder. I suspect the
last Lime or MIDI file you loaded into Lime was from a network or USB drive
or some other folder that no longer is there. Whatever the case, please try
to restore the network folder or put a USB drive that you often use back
into the computer and try it again.

If this doesn't make sense or it doesn't help, tell me and I'll figure how
to reset Lime so that this won't happen anymore.

Tell me how it goes.

Albert

Hi, Everyone.

I'm trying to import a MIDI file in to Lime and am getting the following
error message:

"Error in program. OsErr = -36"

What does this message mean, and how do I fix this?

Thanks,

Dani
