Yeah, agreed its much easier for users. It doesnt have to be an archive
file, a directory is just as good, and no harder for developers IMHO.


What if a bunch of plugins use the same shared dll? Does this mean that every plugin must have a copy of that dll in its directory?


Well, the correspondance between plugins are directories doesnt have to be
1:1. If you cna have >1 plugin in a DLL I dont see why you should have the
data/metadata/whatever in one directory.


I would be much happier if the requirement read:

- Hosts must traverse all subdirectories of its plugin directory when loading plugins.

This would mean that anyone who wanted to group their plugins in folders, however deep, could, but it would not be required.
