Another point.
Parameter changes are timestamped. (or we need a clear understanding of
exactly when they affect the audio).
VST is so vague about when a parameter change actually happens (at the start
of the next block, or immediatly?, or when?). They arn't even
sample-accurate. You can't even be sure what thread they happen in (user
interface or audio).
