Undoubtedly the central position of the World is not something that many people want to even contemplate.

The speed of light limitation is far more of a problem in a huge universe than in a 'small' universe, but is still there, I grant you.

As for parallax, I have a different interpretation of that, as Jack has been alluding to with Regner.

Neville, I disagreed on the need for the stars to centre on the sun, rather than the earth. I raised the question with Robert S but I did not argue because I was unsure of the degree of difference in observed parallax between a rotation around either centre.
 
But looking at the animation, unless the planets had their own orbits centred on the sun, then their observed parallaxe's would be all wrong.. I guessed the same would apply for the rest of the stars.
 
GWW inferred, that the universe rotates around the world, in which all the systems are imbedded, including the stars around the sun. This would make the observations equivalent as regards the annual parallax.
 
Incidently as well, it is integral to the explanation of relativity and the speed of light limitation on mass objection to these objects appearing to exceed this speed in circling the world... All very intrigueing. If the earth is so unique, this poses a problem for science as to why!

GWW is, in my opinion, the finest scientific work to date on geocentrism, but I would disagree with the authors over the snippet you have copied in to your post. This is a subtle difference, however, and need not concern us at the current stage of this debate.

Still cannot understand why all the discussion over Parallax. Whether it was a Heliocentric or Earth centred system, the same parallax would be observed. This was decided here long ago. Parallax is not involved for the star trails being discussed concerning the North star as I thought all had agreed that the effect of the parallax ellipses were too small to be detected with ordinary photo equipment.
