Because no one ever reads the bylaws. They mostly go unnoticed and
unread and mostly no one cares.
I don't know if the nominations are open or closed but I have all the
nominations in a sealed envelope tucked safely under the Sears catalog
upon which I am sitting.
I found it interesting that the folks that have talked most about the
bylaws and stuff didn't do much nominating of anyone for anything so
just to be fair I nominated all the bylaw readers and commenters for
various offices. Might as well give the folks that want to talk about
running stuff a chance to actually run stuff and decide things. Only
seems fair and all that.
