- I'm not sure what exactly transpired but IMO if I suspect that one of my caches is damaged or missing, I would definitely disable it for whatever period of time it takes to correct the issue. Is there a set rule for how long a cache can be disabled if the owner intends on fixing it? If I don't get to it right away, I wouln't worry about someone being disappointed, assuming they actually read the cache page. Now if someone wants to try to find it before I get a chance to repair/replace it, then it's on them if they don't. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jack Anderson" <pandyandy3@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, January 12, 2009 1:56 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: I just got reprimanded - Yes there was, what I am saying is that this will promote people to not disable their caches when they suspect a problem and I think that's a dirty trick to pull on people. They ask that you post a note to the cache page and maybe we should just post a note saying it might not be out there instead of actually disabling the cache, which is still a dirty trick to people that don't look at the cache logs. What ever happens I will be having 3 new caches out there (if approved) where my old ones are for the Winter Potluck & Cabin Fever Event so that people have some actual caches to do, something other than eat and play games. Maybe next year I should just pull them and let someone else have the problems. --- On Mon, 1/12/09, Craig Ingram <seaeye@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Craig Ingram <seaeye@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [GeoStL] Re: I just got reprimanded To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Monday, January 12, 2009, 1:38 PM - Wasn't there just a memo/warning of this coming just days ago?
