Hey All, It is very interesting to see other people's careers and how they actually got into the industry. My name's Ross Townsend, I'm 22 and I'm prob one of the few english guys on this list. I joined a couple of years ago and i would like to thank Bob for the great job he has done with this list :) I graduated from my undergrad in Computer Games Technologies last year, but because of the recession here no-one would touch graduates so i decided to carry on my education and do a masters in Intelligent Systems and Robotics (artificial intelligence). I've been coding for about 4 years now, my first piece of code was written in Turbo Pascal at secondary school where i did a simple bubble sort on a list of numbers. I first started to code properly when i went to university and was taught Java. This is when i realised i had potential for programming and really fell in love with it. I quickly found out that if you want any hope of getting into the games industry that you need to know c++ so i started to teach myself. I admit that i'm still not 100% and i'm still making rooky mistakes but i'm getting there :) I'm in the process of doing my masters dissertation and finish it in september. For those interested, i'm looking at using the GPU for doing logic calculations for intelligent agents instead of using the CPU. I was originally going to do path finding but since that's already been done i am now trying to implement flocking behaviours on it :D I'm also currently working on developing a demo for this guy which will hopefully get me a job at the end of this year. If not i'll probably be following in Kevin's footsteps and distributing hundreds of CV's lol I look forward to more interesting topics that come from this list!
