I finally settled on the Torque engine (used to make Tribes) as it really is one of the most complete and proven game engines out there for the price ($100). And you get full source code. You can really make a high quality multiplayer game with this engine with minimal effort. However, the drawbacks are that its not free, the rendering engine is rather dated (soon to be fixed with the torque shader engine), and theres a learning curve associated with getting to know the engine. However its not nearly as steep as writing all of it yourself. Theres more about it over at www.garagegames.com --------------------- To unsubscribe go to http://gameprogrammer.com/mailinglist.html
