Russ/Alex -- Thanks for the clarification.

[Alex, we must've hit the send reply button at the same time.]

OK -- I think I really do understand now, McAfee Antivirus/etc and Symantec
BESR = separate 'best of breed' applications, with no plans of changing in the
foreseeable future. I can deal with that.

Re: The full suite of McAfee software applications ( VirusScan + ePo
Orchestrator + et al) can provide all we need (antivirus protection, antispam,
malware detection, policy administration, patch serving, security, etc. AND
online network-based backup/restore functionality) for the Windows boxes on the
MESH at I/A v8.5 Secure edition, without the need for apparently redundant
Symantec BESR.

No.

To build on what Russ said:

 - We see McAfee as a leader in security from anti-virus on up the food chain.
 - We see Symantec as a leader in backup software.

Rather than compromising in either of these two vital areas, we've worked with
both in their areas of expertise.
