Invensys has supplied over the years many McAfee versions. Most common were V7.11, V8.0i, V8.5i, V8.7i V7.11 and V8.0i will not support V2 DAT files. V8.5i and V8.7i will. V8.7i ships with I/A V8.5 Workstations shipped in the last 3 years have had V7.11, V8.0i and V8.5i on them as zip files as you needed to load the McAfee version that would support the I/A version you were running. So users running the first two versions....will have to upgrade to V8.5i or V8.7i to be able to use the V2 DAT's Advisory from Invensys is due out in the next few days... as we were developing a plan for users to upgrade. Those details will be in the advisory. -----Original Message----- From: foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Lowell, Timothy Sent: Thursday, April 15, 2010 12:59 PM To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [foxboro] McAfee 8.0i No more updates Thanks, Jack. That is a surprise to me. Here is a link to the Knowledge Base article from McAfee: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB52201 The V1 DAT files stopped being supported on 3/31/10. It would have been nice for Invensys to let us know before it happened. One of our sites is upgrading to 8.5 in July, which uses the new V2 DAT files in its version of McAfee, but the other two I/A sites have no immediate plans to upgrade. Invensys folks, are you working on supporting the V2 DAT files on I/A for versions below 8.5? Foxboro was still selling and installing boxes with McAfee 8.0i two years ago. Supposedly there is to be a notification to all registered Foxboro customers, but I haven't seen one yet. Just passing this on so it won't catch some of you by surprise, as it did me.
