Hi Robert, I certainly wouldn't take it personally in any way, shape or form. Indeed quite the reverse, or you would not be on this list at all. What Jean (I believe) and I are talking about are those who simply refuse to learn. They have done things a specific way for ever, and are not about to change -- for anyone. In a very extreme case we had a while ago, a lady had hand typed a THIRTY page Table of Contents. Printed the whole document, then manually entered the page numbers. There was not one single Style in a 700 plus page document. And yet the document looked visually perfect. She had been using Word for years, and had always done things this way. Can you imagine how long it would have taken to sort that mess out into braille? Fortunately in this particular case, the lady concerned was delighted that we provided her with the training her bosses should have allowed her years ago, and she went away a happy camper. But sadly this is not always the case. George. -----Original Message----- From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Robert Clark Sent: 21 January 2007 17:17 To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] Re: Spam Characteristics: Re: NEED HELP WITH PARAGRAPH STYLE I dont wish to start a war but find comments like "You definitely don't build in tools to accommodate the stupidity of users." to be less than helpful. I ahve been using Word in some version or another since 95 and am still, well, not a proficient Word processor. Does that put me in the same group as the one in the above quote? I hope not because now I have reason to learn how to use Word more effectively. We will always have people who do things with less than perfection. That is the way it is and always will be. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* There are 24 hours in a day, and 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not!
