My primary complaint about that manual is not that the syntax is confusing but 
that the manual absolutely does not cover instructions vital to the optimal 
installation and operation of the embosser.  Unfortunately, this is a typical 
trend in the industry of adaptive technology.

Ann, Pleas do not take my following comment as an insult to you
personally.

My comment is this:  If any of us who speak English learned another
language, would our spoken or written work be any better than the
people from Sweden who wrote the Index manuals in English.

I agree, they should have given the task to someone whose first
language was English or they should have had the material checked to
make sure that the material in English was correct.

I would like to point out that approximately 5% of American children
born to American parents speak any degree of a foreign language.
