Hi Dan, I used ground control shoes for most of this season on my morgan mare. I do a lot of roadwork and thought that they might give more protection from concussion. They work great on the road and on dry rocky surfaces but are aweful on wet grass. Most of the shows that I compete in take place on grass and in early morning dew, or rain, she was slipping and sliding and even fell a couple of times. I understand that you can put caulks on them but I just pulled them and did the last three shows barefoot. She did much better. I don't think I will go back to them for that reason.
