Yes, I agree. Those two pages give the impression tips:farm was the recommended way and farm2 was just another hack, while it is actually the other way around. (Although it was true at the time when the pages were created.) But I don't think that we should delete tips:farm. It should rather go to tips:symlink_farm and should be linked from the new tips:farm, as it seems to be still in use. (The latest comment on the page is from 2009/10/21.)
I think I will "be bold" and do it now. And then I will also re-write the then new tips:farm.
