I've heard that it can't be customized in terms of making original sounds from the sound sources, like if you want to create a patch from scratch, i've heard from some that this isn't possible.

Hi Kelly.Omnisphere doesn't have a playable demo because it's library is nearly 50 gbin size. It's worth every penny if that helps. Most of the other sounds had a rough texture to them (that's really the only way I can describe it) and don't sound right with the trailing reverb. I hadn't heard of Sylenth1 until reading about it on this list, and have been playing with the demo for awhile. Compared to Vanguard, I think this one sounds amazing. As for Omnisphere, I've heard some of the demos for it, but am weary of purchasing it because there's no playable demo as far as I know. Whenever possible, I like to try before I buy. As for programming VST synths, how would you go about layering a sound,or even programming a brand new one? I've always used just the presets, butthe idea of creating your own sounds has fascinated me. Thanks.
