Hey Phil, you are then saing that tascams preamps are not up to standard?
What would you recommend in their place then?

Phil replied no, that's not what I am saying at all. I just wanted more
inputs and thought that as the Tascam ones are class A then, I should purchase
some more class A pree-amps. I am going for the Focusrite OCTOPRE pre-amps as I
have read amazing reviews about them and they aren't too expensive, around
$1200. Also, Herman has them and says that some of his college lecturers don't
like him any more cause he has these pree-amps. LOL!!

        Hello,

I'm considering purchasing a tascam fw1884. Currently, my setup is like
this: I'm using a Mackie 16-channel mixer with an edirol fa66 soundcard. Could
somebody possibly give me some pros and cons to both types of setups? I know
that with the tascam, everything is in one unit, which is one pro. Would you
guys mind sharing your opinions before I make the purchase?

        Thanks.
