Hi I use the 1882 it is just like the 84 but a few less channels. I have loved
mine you could still use your mixer on the big stuff. It is simple and
motorized and that is why I love it so good. You can use your markers and I
guess scrubbing. I have never scrubbed so I do not know. But it will jump to
0. db at the touch of a button. It is great for automation and clean. I also
use it with the EQ, mute, solo, and pan. There is allot I could do more with
but I do not know how and do not have time to learn. I have never had problem
with the midi ports or any thing else. What more can I say it rocks.

  Subject: [ddots-l] some opinions

  Hello,

I'm considering purchasing a tascam fw1884. Currently, my setup is like this:
I'm using a Mackie 16-channel mixer with an edirol fa66 soundcard. Could
somebody possibly give me some pros and cons to both types of setups? I know
that with the tascam, everything is in one unit, which is one pro. Would you
guys mind sharing your opinions before I make the purchase?

  Thanks.
