i really like organizing audio folders separately because when you have a lot of projects in the same folder it grows and grows with every edit every loop you load with every freeze and sometimes you can forget which projects are sharing the same folder and loose some valuable data. i create a folder where i save the project and the audio folder and i keep a lot of versions for protection and when the project is finished i keep only the ones with the data that i consider important in the cwb format and i delete de rest of the files including the audio folder. when you need to change the folder labels or isolate the audio to another location you can use the missing audio files dialog and there's a lot of different things that can be done in this dialog.

Yes, you can change it. Bu then you have to delte the other project name.
It's a drag.

The only problem with storing audio in per project audio folders is
that
you
have to decide what to call the project before you've started the project.
Personally, I have a hel of a time doing that.

when you save the project in the bundle format it incorporates only
the audio used in the project. this at the same time helps to discard
all the out takes the various edits andno longer used material. what i
do is to backup the projects in bundle format and delete the whole
audio folder. but to do this you have to be sure there is not audio
from other projects in that folder. another thing that has proven to
be convenient is to have a folder exclusively for each project, you
can do that by choosing new from the file
menu and filling the dialog be sure to check the store project audio in
its

own foldercheckbox.

Luis or anyone else,

I'm having difficulty getting support on the phone from cakewalk
because they do not support version 4. Luis had mentioned you save
your files in bundle folders. If I make a bundle file from my most
recent saving of the

project, does that mean that all the other outtakes, which are
numerous, will not be attached to that.Hence, if I then move them to
an external disk drive and delete them from the sonar opened dialogue
will all the tracks and recorded tracks I have recorded be gone from
my E drive? I hope I stated that clearly enough. Thanks.

Ross

i really hate that clean up dialog, what i do is to save the files in
bundle format that way i keep only the waves that are used in the
project..

I tried all the procedures you all suggested and unfortunately, I
just get into a loop where when I close the unreadable tracks
dialogue, it just goes back to the previous menu and when I select
"find", it goes back to the unreadable tracks dialogue. Any other
thoughts?
