Another thing I learned to do is to use the Tab and Shift-tab keys to move to
transients within an audio track. Depending on the nature of the beginning or
the end of the section you're working in, you can use your Alt-Numpad keys to
move things until you get it exactly where you want to start whatever process
you're doing. It's almost as fast as scrubbing. It certainly doesn't excuse the
problem of the crashes as you should be able to scrub if you want without
having to go into the clips pane. At least it's a good work-around to avoid
crashing the system.
