Phil,

Well I worked around it, I think. I went into Sonar and added the
Caketalking control surface in there. It comes up now although I seem to
have to hit f6 to refresh things quite a lot.

Any other ideas greatly appreciated!

Laurie

I understand. So the installer is trying to locate something that isn't
their. So uninstall CT and don't delete any files. Then reboot and run the
installer that you downloaded from the link and enter your registration
information .when doing the install. Let us know how you get on :-)

Phil,

Do you mean delete the personalized settings directory file? There is no
sonar85ct88.ini file created in the directory.

Thanks!

Uninstall CT. then, delete that file. Then reboot the system again and input
your CT registration details when installing. That should work :-)

Phil,

Well, I downloaded the executable and now I have a different problem, before
I even get to the control surface. When I try to reinstall CT 8.8.51 from
the executable, I get an error that it can't open the Sonar8.5ct88.ini file
in the personalized settings under the app\roaming\jaws\11\settings\enu
directory. Says it can't oen the file, maybe the disk is full or no access.
The hard disk is not full and I am an administrator. I tried unchecking
read-only on the personalized settings and I tried running the executable as
an administrator. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You are very welcome! Think that will fix it :-)

Phil,

Thanks, I'm going to try a reinstall using the downloaded executable instead
of the dvd.

Thanks again!

Sounds as if something funky may have happened with the CT install. May be
worth reinstalling CT.

Hello,

I just got Sonar 8.5.3 up and running on a computer new to me and I
installed Caketalking 8.8 which I got from Dancing Dots. I'm using Jaws 11
on a Windows 7 64-bit system. When I start Sonar, I can't get a track view
because the Caketalking control surface will not enable. When I type
Ctrl/f12, and press enter, I get the error message that the control surfaces
dialog cannot be opened. What have I missed or what could be wrong? Do I
need to start everything over in 32-bit mode? Any help greatly appreciated.
Got to get a project out the door and I'm stuck!

Thanks!
