Hi. It's not only in Sonar... This is happening even when you play back anmp3 file in winamp or windows media player etc. Cameron. -----Original Message-----From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] OnBehalf Of Phil Muir Sent: Saturday, November 22, 2008 8:49 AM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Issue with my mac book and Tascam FW1884. Hmm, depends. I personally have generally found using WDM drivers, especially on core duo systems better with the FW1884. If your going to useWDM then, set the slider in the FW1884 control panel to 16%. Then, put theslider in Sonar as low as possible and profile the card. Well, I thought I had revived my desktop but after two days of installing and configuring everything, my system drive is shot. So, I'm left with my mac book now. I am having an issue with the FW1884 with it though. I have the latest firmware installed, as well as the latest drivers, and latest Sonar plug in. Here are the mac book specs. 2.4gHz Intel core 2 duoprocessor, 2 gigs of ram, 160gig hd. I have a partition setup so half isOSX Lepard and the other half is Windows xp pro service pac 3. I've installed Sonar producer 7.2 and the latest version of jSonar for Sonar seven. Anyways, whether audio is currently playing back or not, I am getting little noises through my monitors every twenty seconds or so. And then the audio totally stops. About six or seven seconds later, the audio continues where it left off. While the audio is playing, there are no cracks, pops, skips, etc. When the drop out happens, it's immediate and the same goes for when the audio playback resumes. This happens even when only listening to an mp3or video using winamp for example. It's not like I'm pushing the machineor the tascam hard or anything. I've disabled the firewire network adaptor and that has made no difference. There are also no other firewire devices hooked up. Just the FW1884. The internal sound card on the mac book has no issues. I am hoping that putting a new system drive in my desktop will allow me to go back to that for my music work but it's not something I can take care of soon so the mac book is my only midi/audio option at the moment. Any tips on what I could do to solve this? Thanks, Cameron. PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
