Hi.  It's not only in Sonar...  This is happening even when you play back an
mp3 file in winamp or windows media player etc.

Hmm, depends.  I personally have generally found using WDM drivers, 
especially on core duo systems better with the FW1884.  If your going to use

WDM then, set the slider in the FW1884 control panel to 16%.  Then, put the 
slider in Sonar as low as possible and profile the card.
