Thanks for your thoughts I'll do some checking of !run files in !boot I did think of unplugging the older shared CLIb version in Rom so I could see if it was being softloaded elsewhere. Just down to detective work I think. There are a couple of things - in the early days one checked the C lib version and if it was too old, loaded a new one. That was frowned upon, because the C library is dynamically linked to running programs, so if another program was using the already loaded old C lib and you replaced it with a newer version trouble ensued. That is one reason why lines may be commented. Second reason, is the thing I mentioned that the 32 bit version of OP set off as requiring C lib 5 for Iyonix but was later linked with the version of stubs that allowed 32 bit code to use older versions of the C library. Bob, thanks for clarifying that you have latest OP. Should not be choosey about C lib versions. From the above you can deduce that the newest version of C lib must be loaded on boot, and after boot there is no way of changing to a newer one. You can double click for testing, but in general not a good idea. I've had a busy day, eventually time will permit me to turn on the Iyonix and come up with some better researched comments. BTW if anyone is wondering, I replaced my ADSL modem, looks like a hardware problem on the old one. -- David Pilling email: david@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx web: http://www.davidpilling.net To unsubscribe or subscribe goto: //www.freelists.org/list/davidpilling To unsubscribe or subscribe goto: //www.freelists.org/list/davidpilling
