You should be using your battles to hone skills in practice mode.
Yay, you had a combo, but only 1 method of getting it in? Really?
With so many options available?
You play with Ash to simply find a spot to do his Sans-s, and left everything
else out of his repertoire. No wonder you were finding no joy with him.
If you were to play him with no meter at all, what would you do?
Try playing practice mode with various amounts of meter. Find combos that make
the best use of it.
