Malcolm,
I can state with authority that no less a comic figure than Elliot S! Maggin -
who wrote WONDER WOMAN back in the 1970's (along with just about everything
else DC published at the time with the exception of BLACK LIGHTNING, 'cause no
one but Tony Isabella could do that title justice - absolutely loved the movie
and felt it could take it's place alongside the Richard Donner SUPERMAN films,
which rank among his favorite DC Movies, especially the 1st one. There were
many bits he loved - including the sequence that's more or less an updated
version of Superman's flight with Lois over NYC - that I won't describe as I
don't want to spoil the film for anyone else.
If one is looking for something like the WOLVERINE films, this ain't that.
However, one will find a 2nd viewing rewards viewers with a realization it
really is a well-crafted story that others claimed it lacked. There's a lot of
details that initially sail past viewers unfamiliar with Wonder Woman mythology
in particular and DC Comics mythology in general because there is a lot to take
in during the initial viewing.
I've sat through it twice and hope to take it in again before it leaves HBO Max
for the time being.

So who has seen WW1984? We watched it this evening on TV, it’s on a “rent for
48 hours” basis in the UK just now. Anyone got any opinions?
