I practice family law in Rockwall, Texas near Dallas. I am very
supportive of the collaborative law model and its applicability to
certain cases but am concerned about those practitioners that are
seeking to market collaborative law as a one size fits all preferred method.

Any trainings in Collaborative Law: One introductory CLE in 2005 at Seattle
University. Currently looking for basic trainings, but not finding any in
this region of the country. Have already taken mediation and interest based
negotiation trainings.
What is your interest in Collaborative Law: I would like to help clients
work toward solutions to legal conflicts that address all parties'
concerns/issues, and create good future relations if there are to be ongoing
issues. I have trained and done some work in mediation, but understand
myself to be more of an advocate, than a neutral party. I see collaborative
law as a tool that, for appropriate clients, will reduce the stress and
costs associated with legal proceedings, while providing an agreement that
is more likely to be honored.
