All,
This is the second request to "add someone" to the group. This is
wonderful, it seems to me that is what this group desires...to grow in numbers
and mutual support. I'm glad there is so much interest in the group.
I believe it would be helpful if we establish some procedures. In any
group it is good to at least know who the members are. For example, the first
request I got was simply to add a stated eddress, at least this one gives us a
name.
The best way to deal with this is to advise your friends to go to
www.egroups.com and enter "collablaw" into the search field. This will bring
them to our groups info sheet and offer them the opportunity to subscribe.
They should fill out the fields regarding their name, address, etc. and send
it. Gregg and I will get their request and as I have in the past, offer them
for membership barring any objections [I don't think we are looking to exclude
anyone with a legitimate interest in the group's discussions. Correct me if
I'm wrong.]
Another way would be to have them fill in the form below and forward it to
you. Then you can forward the form to the list and thus 'sponsor' the member.
Again, barring any objections, Gregg or I can add him/her to the list.
BTW, Please take the time to go to our site yourselves and add your own
personal data. Some of the eddresses don't even have names associated.
Wouldn't you like others on the list to know who you are and where they can
refer matters to you?
Here's the form I've been using:
We have received your request to join CollabLaw. We are individuals who
practice and support the practice of Collaborative Law. We welcome new members
to the list to share experiences and solutions to common challenges.
Before we can add you to the list, we need to ask a bit about you. Absolutely
essential is that we have a name, address and phone number. We would also like
to get to know you better, so please fill out as much information as you care
to.
