I have been a member of the Collaborative Law Institute in Minnesota
since 1991. I was President for three years and know Stu Webb well. I
have attended more trainings than I can keep track of and now regularly
participate as a trainer in Minnesota. Sorry I took so long to get
involved more on a national level.
What is your interest in Collaborative Law:
It's the only way to go as far as I am concerned. My goal is to make my
practice 100% Collaborative cases. I am making progress!

Completed full 2-day training course with John McElwee, Esq. In September
2001 in Lebanon, Ohio. Two additional training seminars as a member of the
Collaborative Family Law Council of Central Ohio, in November of 2001 and
November of 2002 in Columbus, Ohio
What is your interest in Collaborative Law:
I am an OSBA Certified Specialist in Family Relations Law, State of Ohio.
After practicing 30 years as a family law litigator, I found the adversarial
process to be inappropriate for the satisfactory solution of the problems
involved in restructuring a family going through the divorce process. While
serving as Vice-Chair of the Ohio Task Force on Family Law and Children
during 1999-2001, I became very interested in finding better ways for
resolving family conflict, with minimal or no involvement of the parties in
the existing adversarial court process. Upon learning more about the
Collaborative Law approach, I recognized that it is a much better approach
for enabling spouses/parents to maintain their dignity and control regarding
satisfaction of the emotional and financial interests/needs of their family
members during the restructuring process. Thereafter, I stopped accepting
any new clients for litigation, and have limited my practice to
Collaborative Family Law clients, and the resolution of family conflict
through mediation and arbitration. I have found this new practice to be much
more satisfying than my former litigation practice, and I am interested in
improving my skills and techniques in these fields.
