A man who can actually finish a game like HL2 could possibly be included in a category called "intirigue" -ing
A man who can do it by putting aside his life's work has all the makings of an intrigue-ing rock legend.
And when that life's work places him firmly "in trig" (ie sine & cosine) the stretched double entendre is just too much to ignore.

Couple that with the totally unsurprising fact that a Frenchman (our lovable and hard edged but cuddlely Nick) would offer something >>royalty free<< to the world.
Well, being a hobbyist historian, I just had to remark about that too. ( Jeez... didn't the French sharply free themselves of "Royalty")

Now -- here's the surprising part.--the Beatles (it wasn't just Lennon or McCartney) for a brief season fashioned us all near the cusp transversing the Victorian and Edwardian ages. It was during that effort of theirs, they gave us "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" (the girl with Kaleidoscope Eyes).

Yet, here I am, firmly embraced in the 21st Century, marveling at eyes with a kaleidoscope like structure in the sockets of a female 3d form named "victoria"-- that's just sorta absolutely prettydarn cool....

Of course if you take the derivative of the term "Female 3d" you end up with F3. F3 being the key you (Sara) used to construct your masterpiece(s). wowsers.

Now. Who here says "Nick ain't in touch with the modern world"? Who here says "Nick better stay away from the slick an slinky fashion beasts (on Carnaby St.) that promise unspeakable delights"??

Not me.

In fact -- I proudly and loudly say, [explicitly graphic description deleted]

Hi Sara, Sara and Peter, hello all,

sorry for not replying earlier.

Chaoscope *will* remain free for whatever use (commercial or not) until version 1.0, when I'll decide if it's worth being sold for commercial use only (i.e. Terragen-like license as mentioned by Peter). Version 1.0 will stay free for personal use. In any case, images are and will stay royalty free.

The source code will progressively be made available under GPL license.

This said, development has progressed dramatically in the recent days, due to the fact I've finished Half-Life 2 and that my internet connection has been temporarily downgraded to dialup speed. Here's what has been done so far :

NEW FEATURES

- Chaotic Flow equation was added
- Improved preview: more points and much closer to final render
- Folders for each category of files saved in Options
- Gas and Liquid modes now use custom gradients rather than the built-in black-to-white gradient

FIXES

- The preview brightness was inconsistent between rendering mode changes
- Parameters saved with an exponent part couldn't be read
- Floating point exceptions weren't captured during Search
- Rotation is now consistent with scale
- Large preview scaling was causing near-plane clipping
- Left-most and bottom-most pixel lines were missing on rendered image
- Half of Julia shadows were clipped off in Solid mode
- Artifacts could appear on shadows edges
