With an audio book, I would advise you to rip it to MP3. Otherwise your files will be massive, and they will take up an awful lot of space on your card. If you have a large capacity card, that's okay, I suppose, but transferring such large files will take a lot of time and battery power. The only files you can transfer using a card reader are MP3's. You must use BP Transfer to transfer Audible content. Sorry. As for Overdrive books, the Bookport won't play them, unless you rip them to the MP3 format. Since they are copyright protected, we have had many debates on this list as to whether ripping them is even legal. Since I no longer need to listen to the Overdrive books, that is a moot point for me.

Will bp recognize an audio file transfered directly to a card? Don't you need to go through the transfer software to make it compatible? Will that work with audible.com? Could it work with that bothersome overdrive? Load the book on to one of the devices it recognizes, like the ds50; Transfer it directly to a card using a USB hub and put the card in the bp?
Sounds too easy.

Jeremiah 29:11 - 14.
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity.
