Okay, I have no particular problem with a backup option of some sort in the _transfer software_, but would not support its being a Book Port device function. It would still be slower and harder on batteries than using a card reader and copying directly from the card reader to the computer, but I can see some usefulness in its being incorporated into the transfer software if people are willing to accept those limitations. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Bowman-Jones" <mikebowmanjones@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, June 20, 2006 11:07 AM Subject: [bookport] Re: feature idea Walt, Sorry to keep bombarding you on this, but wouldn't the question "Would you like to back up this document?" be exactly the same thing as when Word asks "Would you like to Save this document?" If BP can do it timely, then that could be a good thing; if not, then I don't know what the answer is. As has already been pointed out, the vast majority of users do not want to wait hours and lose huge chunks of battery life for this function. Additionally, Don may have initially proposed this as a "wish list" function without getting into the nuts and bolts of implementation. As I said in a prior message, I think Pamela or some other APH tech type should speak up on this so we know if it is even feasible let alone worth discussing. Michael
