You're right, Walt, I did this on my Mac at home (wooops!). I'll try it again next time I'm at my friend's as that's the only place with the Transfer software installed. Thanks for the input.

Dave -The error message you received with the Bookshare books indicates that youdidn't use the Bookport Transfer software to place them on the BP.Hopefully, you didn't simply do a straight transfer from your PC to the CFcard using a card burner--this can only be done with MP3 files. -----Original Message-----From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport- bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of David Nash Sent: Monday, November 26, 2007 1:15 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: bookport skipping Brian, I finally got a chance to try those files on the Bookport. Here's what happened. The NPR radio show file played without any major disruptions -- no clicking or hiss. I downloaded 3 versions of Wuthering Heights -- text, daisy and brf from bookshare.org, but unfortunately none of them played at all -- the Bookport said something about can't access indexed files - plus some mp3's I bought from iTunes Store played but with a lot of distortion. And I put the radio show and book files in their own folder, so it's not that there were too many files on the root. Any ideas on what to try next? dave
