[bookport] Re: bookport skipping

Hi Dave:
Well, honestly, I don't know what's going on here, but the fact that the book
crashes in Book Wizard might be the key to the whole thing, as it has to get
the information from Book Wizard Reader. So, if Book Wizard can't open it on
the PC, it makes sense that it wouldn't transfer correctly. So, please let us
know if you can get it going after the update. If not, then we may need to
figure out why Book Wizard crashes.

Unfortunately when my friend tried to read a book through the reader
software it crashes her computer. I don't know if this was because of
a bad install or a conflict of some sort or because of her slightly
underpowered PC. Since I just reinstalled the software I asked her to
try it again. I didn't have time to try it while I was up there.
However the rfb&d discs play fine on her reader vibe, so I know the
discs are not the culprit. I'll keep you informed when I hear how it
goes.
The weird thing is that when listening to the rfb&d files on her
bookport the skips always show up in different places. She can go
back after a skip and it will skip in another place on the second run
over the same sentence or two. And the hissing is pretty much
throughout the recording, from beginning to end.
