Indeed so.  I have become a big fan of NIMH batteries.  They can often 
last for many hundreds of rechargings and I've never lost any  gadgets 
powered by them.

One can save a big chunk of change, particularly using a set of NIMH 
batteries with the appropriate re-charging  setup.
