Why not someone broadcast information herein so everyone knows, and not
all clog up RFB&D's phone lines? Isn't that the purpose of the listserv?

I had exactly the same problems last week. I'd suggest that you call
rfb&d and press number 3 when the call is answered. They will call you
back, and are quite good about explaining the procedures which, as you
say, are not described well at all.
