Thank you, Otto.

I sincerely hope everyone keeps in mind that all of us are simply =
expressing our various opinions. I never intended to negate anyone's =
ideas, and I believe no one else did either. While I am personally not =
in favor of a hardware upgrade, I have no business telling anyone else =
that this is a bad idea, and I wouldn't presume to do so. When I said =
the BookPort was "perfect" as it is, I was stating my opinion, and mine =
alone.
Just my two pence worth. <Smile>

I'd rather go to the trouble of carrying around a tiny speaker than send =
=3D
in my BP for upgrade or shell out the money for a new model. The BP is =
=3D
very close to perfect just the way it is.

True, but it is just one more thing to carry around.

There are probably hundreds of sources for tiny portable speakers--some =
=3D
=3D3D of which don't need batteries--that would work great with the =
BookPort.

I do not like the idea of rechargeable batteries where there is no =
=3D3D3D
option to use disposable batteries. The facts that there is no down =3D =
time
and that =3D3D =3D3D3D I don't need to be tied to the end of a power =
cord =3D are
what gives the Book Port the desired portability. In my opinion the =
most =3D
useful improvement that can be made to the Book Port is adding a speaker =
to
the unit. =3D3D3D There are so many times that using a head set is so =
=3D
inconvenient that I just =3D3D =3D3D3D don't record the memo or complete =
some
other task. =3D The speaker could be a =3D3D3D small low quality =
speaker like a
cell phone =3D speaker.
It does not need to be =3D3D =3D3D3D any more than that.

While we are on this subject.

What is the opinion of the list on the subject of rechargeable vs =
=3D3D3D
alkalyn batteries in a future Book Port design?

I am personally very happy with the way the current system works, =
=3D3D3D
because there is never any down time while the unit recharges, you don't
have to take a charger with you, and power is always just two AAs away.

Ok, Larry is the man and if the man says yes, then yes it is. Is there =
=3D
=3D3D =3D3D3D no limit to how good this product can be? =3D3D3D20

Hi APH and listers:

I know that the BookPort while plugged into the USB port uses a certain

amount of power from the batteries. However, it occurs to me that the =
=3D =3D3D
=3D3D3D USB=3D3D3D20 port can provide all the power needed and it seems =
odd that
=3D the BP=3D3D3D20 couldn't take advantage of this instead of draining =
the =3D
batteries for =3D3D =3D3D3D this=3D3D3D20 function. My Braille display =
at work
runs =3D completely off the USB port

without the need for any other external power source. Could this =3D3D =
=3D
be=3D3D3D20 eventually true of the BP if you ever update the hardware?

Thanks!
