Bruce,

I agree that there is already a lot of information spoken when the 8 key is
pressed while reading is in progress.  The suggestion here, however, is that
when pressing the 8 key while on a folder name, the BP would speak some
information about the folder and it's contents - i.e., number of files in
the folder, space the folder takes up, or something like that.  Currently,
when the BP is on a folder and not reading, nothing is spoken when the 8 key
is pressed.  Thus, there might be room for this feature without adding to
the amount of information already spoken if the 8 key is pressed while
reading is in progress.

There comes a point, and who knows when that point is reached, where 
there's just too much information spoken with the 8 command. There's got 
to be a balance. Everyone probably has their pet favorites, something 
they'd like to see included, but if you put them all in, it'd take ten 
minutes to listen through all the info.
