I have had my Book Port for three weeks, no crashes, no problems. It worked so well for me that my husband bought one for himself, he is legally blind and generally reads print books more than any other media but in just a few days he is attached to his also. By the way, we noticed that the cards that came with ours were 256 MB cards, not 64 MB cards. I became curious last weekend when I thought I was getting more material on the card than I figured should fit. The two purchases I have made since the year 2000 that have enhanced my life the most have been my Braille Note and the Book Port, one for the ease with which I can take notes, read technical information, the other for the small size and the ability to carry it anywhere easily, drop it in my fanny pack, pocket, purse and have listening material anywhere. Until I got the Book Port the Braille Note was never far from reach, even though at times it was a bother to have to carry it or find a place for it. I took a bus trip in February to Laughlin with my dad's Lions club. I did not want to carry the Braille Note throughout the casino with me and because it was cool I did leave it on the bus but I worried about it all day long, either that it had been stolen or gotten bounced somehow, it was fine but now I won't have that kind of worry for a day trip when the BP can go in my pocket and be safely with me without hindering me. But beyond that I just reset it or briefly remove batteries and it's happy again I also use it every day it's great I wouldn't bash it just because it's crashed occasionally With text I've had no problems at all -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Richard Ring Sent: Friday, September 30, 2005 4:33 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: Bookport Stability Ok, I am going to add one thing here. And I am not kidding. I use my Bookport every day, there is not one day that goes by when I don't use it at least a little. There is no device I have ever owned besides my computer and my stereo that gets nearly that much use! I couldn't be happier, and I know the machine is stable, I have probably read several hundred text books on mine and it still keeps going! -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andrew J. I have contacted them for some questions on the item and had much success and satisfaction. I agree that the money I spent on the bookport is the best money spent on. It is one of the few items that I am totally happy with that was obtained via the mail. I will say this again, I am 51 years old and since I purchased this bookport, I have been reading various books in audio, bookshare and word and text documents more now than in any other times in my life and that is the honest to god truth. Thank you to all who are responsible for this fantastic device.
