I know that some electronic devices will not operate when the device =
thinks
that the battery is depleted, rather it is actually depleted or not.  =
Could
it be that the Book Port thinks that the batteries are depleted and so =
will
not allow itself to be activated, giving the appearance that they are
depleted, when, in fact, the batteries are not depleted?  I once had =
this
problem with a laptop.  When it appears that the batteries are depleted,
Someone might tried removing and reinserting the same batteries or =
resetting
the Book Port, in order to test this theory.
