Yes, I think this might be the issue. I can verify that the clock runs, whether you set it or not. But, I put a fresh set of batteries in yesterday morning, and didn't set the clock. I have spent about 3.5 hours listening to MP3s, and another two hours reading with the DoubleTalk speech. My total minutes spoken is 341.
