For one thing, if I had a book you submitted, if I know who submitted it, I can contact them for pages, or other questions regarding the book, smile. That is why. I also have mine set to show, because it is nice to have people write me and say "I read ... and loved it, and saw you were the submitter . Would you have any others like it?" Or similar questions requests and the like. Have had serval people say "Thank you for submitting.... I have been wanting to read it, or it was helpful in my job" or whatever. I like knowing what someone submits, as normally if I like what they submit, perhaps they have submitted other titles that might be of interest. Also allowing your name to show will let you know how many books are in the collection that you submitted. To do this. Type in a title of yours. Then, Click on your link on the About page. If you don't allow your name and email address to show, it will say "A Bookshare Volunteer" which tells us nothing. These are the short and fast reasons. Also, if you don't log in, it won't show the person's names with submissions, so privacy is assured. Shelley L. I hate to sound stupid but I don't really get it. I set mine to show yesterday and changed it back this morning... I just validate, but if there is a good reason I can change it again. I thought submitters got notes in their email if they let their e-mail show on uploads. Evidently I am wrong.. Sue S.
