Aren't you the car racer? <grin> Are you a scan racer as well? <smile>
Hi Cindy,
Oh yes they still do. I hit that point back around the first of the year. My renewal is September 11 so it goes to so how much I did last fall and winter. Right now I have a number of things going so my validation and scanning is a little slower than it was. Yeah, once I reach Sep 11 I will start a crewing again.

Katie, I think what you're submitting and validating will earn you credits toward your next year's membership. Unless things have changed, I think you're allowed to accrue for one year ahead.
Cindy
-I now have my second but still keep submitting and validating. Bookshare is a wonderful resource.

If I remember correctly, quite sometime ago Shelley posted that she submitted until she had enough credits to pay for her first year's subscription because she was a student and did not have the money to pay for
a subscription. Is that right, Shelley, or is my memory failing me? I do not want to put words in your mouth. <smile>

I submitted a couple of books before paying my membership fee. Perhaps you should ask these people where they got the idea that they couldn't. It just didn't occur to me that I couldn't submit books before paying. There's absolutely nothing anywhere on the site that even implies that you need to pay before submitting, only downloading.
I submitted books that I knew weren't in the collection. Since I didn't know about the validation part at the time, I might have been wasting my time scanning books that were already out for validation or in the admin queue, but I apparently got lucky on that score. Still, it would be good if members and nonmembers wanting to submit something could input a title and get a message back telling them if the book is out for validation, waiting for administrator approval, or not in the system at all.
