Um, E, why should those of us who are sighted but disabled get second shrift because there are fewer of us? Isn't this the kind of discrimination that Bookshare was founded to help overcome? Bookshare is here so "that all may read" - not just the blind.

I don't intend to be ornery here. However, in my opinion this is the exact attitude that leads regular libraries to ignore the needs of the blind. They put all their efforts into materials for the sighted because, hey, they want to serve as many people as possible first and the blind can stand in line for the leftovers because there aren't that many blind people, after all.

Let's not practice discrimination within Bookshare against those who have disabilities that are different than our own, please.

Given bookshare's limited resources, it may be wise to include books of use by as many people as possible first and then go on to books which can only be used by sighted folks later.
