The Duchess is available from Web Braille, but it's not in the bookshare
collection. I've read it several times, and wish that everyone could have
access to it.

I think it's because her books are older. Additionally perhaps some may consider her books geared toward adults. The one that comes to mind is All the Sweet tomorrows. Of course I've only read 3 of her books. By the way, my library has some of her books. Is there any particular requests? Is there a Bertrice Small book that someone is just dying to read?

I think writing to her is a great idea. You might tell her how many fans she has here (you probably were already planning t do that) and how many of her books are already scanned and in the collection. As for our buying her books -- I get mine from the library, but I've looked at the bookshelves in the grocery store and drugstores where they have popular paperbacks for sale and not one so far has had one of hers, though they do have other popular authors such as Maeve Binchey, Sandra Brown, Grisham, etc. I've wondered why. Is that something she doesn't want?
