Hi Deborah!

BTW, that is the spelling of my full name too.

I have modified what I said in my previous post.

After a short while, I disagreed with the Google Books search, because of the scano being Mir6, because I have come across a 6 like that also when I have scanned and a Spanish word or name appeared in the text and I hadn't changed my secondary language in OpenBook to Spanish but left it as English, so I have replaced them all to Miró since I have found that the ó was recognized as a 6 in my scans in the past, and it was recognized correctly a little later in the book by Kurzweil, the submitter's software of choice, so I knew that there was an acute accent on the o.

Unfortunately, many of the scans on books.google.com have errors.
I discovered this while scanning the series of Irish mysteries I'm currently
working on.
Many of the Irish words and names have a fada, which looks like the French
acute accent mark. These are often misrecognized. For example, a letter "a"
with the fada will be recognized as a letter "d". I have found these same
errors in the books on books.google.com. When I get sighted help or use my
cctv I find that the word in question has an accented letter.

I have found that I often get better results by doing a general search on
google for the word or phrase in question.

Hi everyone!

I appreciate learning about books.google.com on this list a few months ago,
because it came in handy tonight and I was able to find the information I
was looking for.

I am proofreading "The Sands of Time" by Sidney Shelton. In chapter one,
page 1, there was a name that was recognized as Jaime Mir6, which is really
Jaime Miro according to the information on Google Books. I was thinking it
had an acute accent on the o because of the 6, which I have come across
while scanning, but, I guess I'll stick with the plain o as Google shows.
