I think of the V, in control V, as the top of a Elmer's glue bottole. And
control plus X, for cut, as the pair of scissors that are open and ready to
cut. But these are print memory aids, don't qquite work in braille.

A memory clue I use for the Control V, paste command, is to liken it to the
back flap of an envelope, which has that V shape. The glue pastes down the
envelope flap, Control V pastes down the information.

Hi all,

Actually, it's CTRL-Z as in Zulu. All the major editing commands in
Word are made with the left hand on the bottom row of the keyboard.
CTRL-Z for undo, CTRL-X for cut (excise), CTRL-C for copy, and, CTRL-V
for paste because CTRL-P is for print.

If you're wondering about 'exise', I use it as a memonic for students.
Yes, I know it starts with an E but it sounds like it ought to start
with an X and it means to cut out. So, shoot me!
