Yeah, I think that Ctrl-V makes no sense and that wouldn't do it for 
me. Not having much trouble with that anymore.

A memory clue I use for the Control V, paste command, is to liken it 
to the
back flap of an envelope, which has that V shape.  The glue pastes 
down the
envelope flap, Control V pastes down the information.

Hi all,

Actually, it's CTRL-Z as in Zulu.  All the major editing commands in
Word are made with the left hand on the bottom row of the keyboard.
CTRL-Z for undo, CTRL-X for cut (excise), CTRL-C for copy, and, CTRL-V
for paste because CTRL-P is for print.

If you're wondering about 'exise', I use it as a memonic for students.
Yes, I know it starts with an E but it sounds like it ought to start
with an X and it means to cut out.  So, shoot me!
