Patti, One low-tech possibility could be that the scanner needs a bath. <grin> They can get dust and fingerprints etc on them after a while. It's good to use a glasscleaner, like maybe that kind of Windex that has vinegar in it. I've heard you shouldn't use normal Windex, but I usually do and I get very clean scans. Kellie
