Hi Cindy, Yes. Even if someone uses translation software, the software sometimes misses things. I haven't used the newest versions of such software. I hope things are better than they were when I was playing around with this stuff. Mostly they do literary Braille because they can't readily do anything else; music Braille is hard to do unless you have the software to do it. A transcriber who knows Braille music can do it with the Braille software such as Duxbury or Braille 2000, and of course there is Braille Music software but it is expensive. Braille transcription as we know it may be a dying art, but in this state all have switched to using the computer for it. Braille itself is probably not dying, especially if those of us who use it continue to push for it not to be because people need to know how to read. Transcription will come down to being done in software such as Word, just as an example, and then translated. That will mean proofreading will become even more important. JMHO.
