[bksvol-discuss] Quickly scanning books

Well, I do use Kurzweil but I'm not a quick submitter either so don't feel
bad. I have about five or six, maybe more, books sitting here on my hard
drive scanned and ready to edit, but like you, I read everything I submit
completely through first before submitting it too. It does make things go a
little slower, but then I know that when I put something up, it's as good as
I can make it. I wasn't always that self-conscious about my scans but I
think just about everyone here can say that. The first few books I scanned
for Bookshare wouldn't make it off my hard drive in that condition now!

Hi Amber,

In view of what's happening these days, I will submit a book only if I've
prearranged with someone to proofread it, and I will put a hold on it for
that person. It's sad to have to resort to doing this, but it is one way to
make sure my submissions are read through. Besides, if a certain few people
are snagging books as they are submitted, I want to give others an
opportunity to earn credits.

I wish I could scan books quickly, but I read every page prior to submission
and use OpenBook 8 which, in my opinion, cannot compare to Kurzweil quality.
I'll make it a point to scan a book or two soon, and will let everyone know
when I have a submission ready.

Blessings.

Lynnsky

Every time I put up a title, it's gone with in a few minutes.
